Hannspree Tablet comes with Android 2.2 for around 500$

At the upcoming IFA in Berlin, several Android tablets are expected to be revealed. Also Hannspree, a global company, announced another Android tablet, right some days before the opening of one of the biggest consumer electronics events. This is what the Hannspree Tablet will look like:

Hannspree, a company I never heard of, announced that they will start to sell their tablet in November 2010 through electronic distributors in Germany. No word was said about possible sales in other countries.

While the specs look pretty good on a first sight, I would like to see that thing in action before being willing to pay 500$. Somehow it looks like one of these tablets a OEM producer in Taiwan or China builds. I just don’t know which one, maybe one of you readers has seen it somewhere around? Or somebody can take a closer look at it if it is on display at the IFA…

Two things are pretty cool about it: It has a two years warranty and it should have full Android Market access, as the company promises in the press announcment. But don’t get too enthusiastic about that… Many apps, especially games, are not ready for huge tablet displays yet. For the tablet market, a huge developing effort in apps and in the Android core will be necessary. So I wonder why there is no Android 3.0 around. Maybe Google CEO Eric Schmidt will know more when he delivers the closing speech at the IFA…
