So TechCrunch had the JooJoo and now YugaTech has an Android Tablet.

I’d like to share a sneak peek at the upcoming YugaTech DroPad we had designed with our Taiwanese partner, FoxConn.

It’s not yet finished and what I have here is just a prototype of a 7-inch Android – powered tablet. I wanted to get some feedback from YugaTech readers and maybe share some photos before we finalize this device.

Can’t really share the complete specs but what I can say is that the device will have support for 3G/HSDPA, WiFi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth, an 8GB internal storage, SD card slot (up to 16GB), micro USB port, 3.5mm audio port.

It’s been tested to run Android 1.6 on an Atom Z520 1.33GHz and 1GB of RAM. The specs are pretty basic and minimal so we can offer this to the market at a very affordable price.

At the moment, we are looking at a possible retail price of Php14,999. As for availability, I’m looking at a June 31, 2010 release.

Update: We’re not taking pre-orders at the moment but I will post another announcement when we’re all ready. We’re still talking to a carrier to partner for the 3G service and possibly, a subsidized price.
